Contract Design 101

A practical, engaging workshop designed to help your team understand:

  • What makes a contract effective (and usable)

  • Where risk really sits in your agreements

  • How to prioritise improvements

  • How to simplify language without losing legal protection

This session gives your team a clear roadmap for improving your contract suite.

Learn & Plan means your team will do some work in this session to plan out a contract design project.

Available in-person (Melb or Syd) or online.

Clear Legal Communication

Legal advice and documents need to empower your team, not confuse or intimidate them!

This interactive workshop focuses on:

  • Communicating with execs (yes, they are different than normal people!)

  • Plain language drafting principles

  • Structuring clauses for readability

  • Designing documents for usability

  • Improving internal and external legal communication

Your legal team will gain practical tools they can immediately apply to rolling out new initiatives, creating policies, drafting agreements, and internal communications.

Learn & Plan means your team will do some work in this session to plan how to communicate legal information.

NDA or Volunteer Agreement

We help you redesign your NDA or Volunteer Agreement so that:

  • Be ACNC registered not-for-profit

  • Fill out the application form below

Registered Australian charities

We offer pro bono services to organisations registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC).

Organisations aligned with responsible business practices

We work with charities that demonstrate a commitment to ethical conduct, fair treatment of staff and volunteers, and responsible governance. This includes compliance with applicable workplace laws and a willingness to operate transparently and accountably.

Teams committed to implementation

Our workshops and redesign projects are most impactful when teams are ready to engage, provide input, and implement improvements. We prioritise organisations that are committed to taking practical steps following our sessions.

Capacity to participate meaningfully

At least one decision-maker or senior team member must be involved in the workshop or redesign process to ensure alignment and momentum.

We focus on contract design, clarity, and communication. We do not provide litigation support, employment disputes, or broad generalist legal services under this program.

We know there is a lot of need for good legal advice, contracts, and information. We can’t meet all the needs (yet!) so we need to balance the applications we receive with our teams’ skills.

We also balance this with the stage of each business to ensure they will benefit from our services.

Frequently asked questions

  • You can only apply once for each ABN. If you have separate ABNs for your businesses, you can send through separate applications for each ABN. Each business or ABN must meet all the eligibility criteria.

  • Depending on which program you select and are eligible for, you may get:

    • A tailored online or in person workshop for your team

    • A tailored contract simplification project for either an NDA or a Volunteer Agreement for your organisation.
